CS Literacy in the Schools, one of our largest initiatives, targets the knowledge aspect of our goals.
Acting as guest lecturers, we go to classrooms in elementary and middle schools (both in-person and online) in the area to provide students with foundation information regarding definitions surrounding computer science, the importance of cybersecurity and cyber safety, basic coding skills, prominent CS career options, and much more.
In the future, we would love to simply educate as many people as possible, expanding this initiative to other schools in the state and even beyond, as well as to students of younger ages and different backgrounds.
We recognize that technology can be perceived negatively and used for the wrong reasons. However, we also know that it's here, and it's here to stay; we're looking at a future where no field or concept exists without technology, so why not embrace it, learn to use it safely and properly, and even harness it to do good? Our Tech for Good initiative comprises of informing people of all the different way technology can be positively utilized, be it medical cures, home security, or even environmental detection and action.
